The "NRI with a customs problem"
A charming, well-off profile abroad builds trust quickly, then a parcel of gifts is "held at customs" and a fee must be paid. There is no parcel. Never pay.
The medical or family emergency
After days of warm conversation a sudden crisis needs a transfer "just for a few days". Genuine families do not ask new acquaintances for money.
The investment tip
A match who keeps mentioning returns from an app or crypto scheme is recruiting for a fraud, not looking for marriage.
The document request
Requests for Aadhaar, PAN or passport copies "for the family" are identity theft. Sanjog Darpan staff will never ask for documents through chat either.
What to do
- Use Report on the profile or conversation; our team reviews every report.
- Block the member.
- If money changed hands, report to the National Cyber Crime portal (cybercrime.gov.in, helpline 1930) as soon as possible.
