Sanjog Darpan reviews every profile and photo, but a review is not a background check. Please follow these practices.
Protect your money
- Never send money to another member for any reason: emergencies, customs charges, gifts, business deals, "verification fees".
- Never share bank details, card numbers, OTPs, UPI PINs or copies of identity documents.
- Sanjog Darpan is free. Anyone claiming to collect a fee on our behalf is a fraud. Report them at once.
Protect your privacy
- Keep early conversations on Sanjog Darpan. Share your phone number only when you are comfortable; use the contact-sharing request so it stays under your control.
- Use the privacy settings for photos, full name, employer, income and horoscope.
- Do not share your home address, workplace or daily routine early on.
Warning signs
- Pressure to move off the platform immediately or to rush the relationship.
- Refusal to video call; photos that look professional or inconsistent.
- Stories involving sudden money trouble, being stuck abroad or an urgent family emergency.
- Requests for documents "for the family" or for gifts and favours.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place, tell a family member or friend where you are going and arrange your own transport.
- Involve your family early; that is normal and expected here.
Report and block

If you believe a crime has been committed, contact the police or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in (helpline 1930).
