1. Agreement
These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Sanjog Darpan ("Sanjog Darpan", "we"), operator of sanjogdarpan.com. By registering or using the service you accept these terms, the privacy policy and the community guidelines. If you register a profile for a relative, you confirm that they know about it and consent to it.
2. Eligibility
The service is only for adults who are legally eligible to marry under the law applicable to them (in India, 18 years for a bride and 21 years for a groom under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006) and who are genuinely seeking marriage. You must not be prohibited from using the service by any law or by an earlier suspension.
3. Free service
Sanjog Darpan charges members nothing. There are no membership plans, credits or paid features. Members must not offer, request or pay money, gifts or dowry to or from other members. We may introduce reasonable safety limits (for example daily caps on new interests); these cannot be lifted by payment.
4. Your account and responsibilities
- Provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it updated.
- Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- One account per person. Do not transfer your account except through the transfer-of-control feature.
- Follow the community guidelines; respect other members' privacy and consent.
5. Content and licence
You own the content you post (profile text, photos). You grant Sanjog Darpan a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process it only to operate the service (including showing it to other members within your privacy settings and creating resized copies). You confirm you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove content that breaches these terms.
6. Review, moderation and suspension
Profiles, photos and other content are reviewed by our team before they become visible and may be re-reviewed after edits. A "Reviewed" badge means a staff member checked the content for completeness and consistency; it is not a verification of identity, marital status, employment, health or background. We may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or endanger others, and we may keep records needed for safety. You can appeal through the support team or the grievance officer.
7. No guarantee and limitation of liability
We do not guarantee matches, responses, marriage or the accuracy of information supplied by members. We are not a party to any relationship, meeting or agreement between members and are not responsible for members' conduct online or offline. Verify information independently and follow the safety guidance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sanjog Darpan is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the service; because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to INR 1,000.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but may suspend it for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
9. Intermediary status and grievances
Sanjog Darpan is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Complaints about content or accounts may be sent to the grievance officer, who will acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account → Data & privacy. Sections 5 (for content already shown), 7, 11 and 12 survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have.
